The Courtyard in Courtice is a lively bar and grill that fits comfortably into the local dining scene with a casual, welcoming vibe. Located on King Street East, it draws a mix of families, sports fans, and groups of friends looking for hearty, familiar dishes paired with a friendly atmosphere.

The interior balances a bustling sportsbar environment with a surprisingly approachable space for quieter conversations, especially during off-peak hours or among smaller groups. On lively nights, there’s often live music, which adds energy but can make chatting a bit more challenging. The place shines with its well-regarded patio, highly praised for sunny afternoons or warm summer evenings, making it a local hangout when the weather cooperates.

The menu showcases classic bar & grill fare with some local twists—fish and chips, 1lb wings with a variety of sauces including favorites like Mango Habanero (though patrons have noticed it’s sometimes missing), as well as lighter options like Caesar salad and seafood linguine. The portions tend to be generous, with dishes such as pulled pork sandwiches, sizzlin’ fajitas, and stuffed Yorkshire pudding catering to those looking for comforting, filling meals. Specialty items like the brmelette breakfast or eggs benedict with peameal hint at a brunch-friendly appeal as well.

Service here is consistently noted as attentive and friendly. Servers tend to engage well without feeling intrusive, contributing to a relaxed dining experience whether it’s a family lunch or an evening out with friends. While some patrons note small quirks, like additional charges for wing dipping sauces, the overall hospitality keeps people coming back.

The Courtyard is best suited for those who enjoy casual dining with robust portions and an active social atmosphere. It’s a spot where you can count on a solid range of comfort foods, shareable plates, and a good beer or sangria to complement your meal. Weekend wing specials and a varied kids menu also make it a practical choice for family outings or casual group dinners.

Visit on a weekend afternoon to catch the bustling patio vibe or come in the evening if you’re up for live music and a more spirited crowd. The blend of sportsbar energy, solid pub fare, and outdoor seating spots this place as a reliable local favorite for casual occasions in Courtice.

My family and I went to the Courtyard Christmas Eve for lunch. We were seated quickly by our server Hailey. The food was awesome and more than we could finish. Hailey checked in with us at least 4 times during our meal. She was great and made this a great trip. We will be back.

Tried on the recommendation of a coworker. The $13 Sunday wing special was a nice surprise. I’m not a fan of the Costco type coated fries, but that’s just a preference. The gravy made up for it! Was really good. Reuben was ok. Not memorable. Wouldn’t order again. Didn’t appreciate that $0.75 per wing dipping sauce was added to the receipt. I feel like it should come standard. But maybe it says somewhere on the menu that it’s an up-charge and I missed it. Server was efficient, courteous and knowledgeable. Will probably bring my family of 6 here for a birthday celebration in the coming weeks as there is a varied menu for all tastes. Glad to have found a place ‘new to me’ in the Durham area!

I visited Courtyard last week and really enjoyed the overall ambience. it was lively and almost full. The food was tasty; we tried the asparagus soup, salad, chicken mushroom penne pasta, and chicken Marsala. The portions were decent, and the service was good. There was live music during our visit, which added to the atmosphere, though it did get a bit too loud and made conversation difficult. Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience.

This place is easily a 5 star pub it’s got the best patio in town, It’s got amazing servers across the board, fantastic food, great selection and some of the best wings around! Although one of my favourite sauce is The Mango Habanero and it might be discontinued…. Definitely a 5/5 pub but please bring back Mango Habanero wing sauce! My brother travels from Scarborough for the experience but especially for the Mango Habanero Wing Sauce, it’s the best sauce you’ve ever had!

Food is absolutely excellent. They are busy, and home-made excellence takes time, but their food is worth waiting for! Wonderful server. Lively sports-bar atmosphere, but easy for 4 seniors to hear ourselves chat. Our new favourite place!
